This is actually the remake from the 1933 movie. In 1960s Germany happened a fashion or trend of mystery-thrillers, often with a touch of comedy, like the very popular Edgar-Wallace crime films, that regularly kept many people staying at home, when they aired it on television, hence the tag of “Straßenfeger”, meaning several films like that were so popular that streets seemed to be empty during the broadcast.

The Testament of! Thanks, I didn’t identify this at first. RL if you also have Ingmar Bergman’s “The Serpent’s Egg”/1977 in HD (rare!) also with Gert Fröbe would be fantastic to upload.
Thanks rarelust. Is the commentary by David Kalat?
yes (Commentary by writer David Kalat)
