Thanks for all your work, this website is the best
Thank you so much for the restored Turner cut! As far as I know, it’s the only iteration featuring the instrumental version of Heaven’s Door. Dylan’s vocals are too prominent throughout the other cuts, bringing them closer to an extended music video IMHO.
Thank you, thank you once more Rarelust. The original theatrical version, fondly remembered by we ancients who saw it when it was first released, has been MIA for decades. The various re-cuts don’t add any meaning to the movie; though they are definitely easier to decipher. And (this what made Peckinpah the maddest) the James Aubrey-MGM cut invented the juxtaposition of the death of Slim Pickens and Dylan’s Knocking on Heaven’s Door, for which we should all be grateful.
