Fun film. Thanks. The fourth lead, Lyle Talbot, was a prolific actor back in the day. I recognized him as “Joe Randolph”, the neighbor on Ozzie and Harriet. Thanks.
Wow, I’d been looking for this film for a long time, so thank you so much for posting it so fast!
Thanks for these fine vintage films, RL.
The studio system, for all it’s exploitation of the writers, directors and actors, etc. cranked out the best films of Hollywood (as we know it today). That’s just my opinion, of course.
Hollywood’s Golden Age lasted from the mid-1930s to the late 1950s-early 60s. That’s my ballpark guess but YMMV.
Got any more classic films, starring :
Humphrey Bogart
Burt Lancaster
Gregory Peck
Edward G. Robinson, etc??
Thanks again RL for all you do!
Beautiful; among the last of the pre-Haze code movies..It’s so great to see these 1930’s movies show up here..
I agree, it’s quite a remarkable work by Mervyn LeRoy (Little Caesar, I am Fugitive from a Chain Gang), and I agree, it’s great to see these 30s movies show up here…
I totally agree, especially with those pre-code movies (1930-1934) because of their daring and peculiar tone.
