Oh gosh, those darn white Supremes again? Did the SPLC pay for their appearance in this too? SMH
Hahaha, maybe! But they wouldn’t have to. The director, after all, was with the CIA. Frankenheimer was responsible for launching Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s presidential bid in 1968 by coaching him to appear as appealing as possible on camera in the promotional films Frankenheimer produced.
Although I have no knowledge of this of my own, it would not surprise me if Frankenheimer was involved in far more than that regarding the RFK operation. On the commentary track to Frankenheimer’s L’impossible objet, Video Watchdog film historian Tim Lucas says that Frankenheimer drove RFK to the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on the evening of June 5, 1968, and—according to Lucas—”patiently” waited in the car by the kitchen exit while RFK was being shot.
What does this have to do with your reference to Whites and the SPLC? Quite a lot, I’d say: The powers that be do what the powers that be do, and those entities co-operate with the FBI, also. In 2017 the FBI and DHS released a joint intelligence bulletin stating that White supremacist extremism poses a “persistent threat of lethal violence” and that White supremacists were responsible for more fatalities than any other domestic extremist group since the year 2000. Since 2000! This includes the claimed terrorists of Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia claimed to be responsible for the 3,000 deaths in the 9/11 operation and other “Muslim attacks” in the US. Yet they continue to scare the public with their “Muslim boogeymen”. And now it’s Whites, too!
Thank you.
One great late Frankenheimer pic. Look for Ron Jeremy in one of his cameos that he often did for the director.
Thank you kindly!
