Thank you.
It is an interesting picture, a thrilling one. Dorothy Burgess, who is for some reason billed third, even though the film is all about her and it is she on the poster, is outstanding here. It was an exceptional, coming-out role for her, who, as far as I could find, usually played subdued and placid characters. Here her character is not, of course, “driven insane” by voodoo but embraces the amoral wildness of these people – actually of something far more interesting and profound than these people. I’m watching “Mafu Cage” right now, also on this website, and there is a similar theme there. The “civilized” Americans are not worth paying any attention to, well-including this Jack Holt. Fay Wray is something herself, but not as a nice-girl secretary.
Jack Holt’s new to me and the tinting is an interesting addition. Colorization before modern times.
thank you rarelust for all the movies through the years!! can we maybe get a good quality uncensored version of Ultime grida dalla savana [aka savage man, savage beast] (1975)??
