Surely the video company, or the museum itself, could have come up with some knowledgeable historian to comment on this film, on a separate track? I mean, it’s a Griffith, for heaven’s sake!
Always wondered why it was called the “Civil War” since the South had no desire to occupy the North in the event they were victorious. Turns out Lincoln killed 620,000 people to collect taxes, not to free slaves.
Yes, the South only wanted to be left alone so they could have slavery. They were certainly the good guys.
It wasn’t a civil war, it was set up by the same foreign forces and banks that funded the revolution in France in the same year, to weaken/disrupt America and play people out against each other, to make profits and gain political control.
This biopic omits his achivements as a vampire killer. Boo!
Haven’t seen this, wonder how it compares to Daniel Day-Lewis version (2012).
