Description: A continuation of the fate of the characters from the novel “Girls from Nowolipki”. It is the beginning of the 1920s. Kwiryna and Roman are already married, they run a shop together. Amelka becomes the wife of a rich pharmacist. Bronka works as a secretary at the Charitable Society. However, her friends’ private lives are not going well. Quirine is morbidly jealous of her husband. Amelka has an affair with Andrzej, the nephew of the local parish priest. Bronka had to give up her job as a secretary because her superior suspected the girl of having an affair with her husband, Ignacy.
