btw,, this is filmed same year with Rossellini’s neorealism standard Germany Year Zero (Germania Anno Zero), also post-WW2 Berlin yet completely different mood.

Otto Normalverbraucher aka Standard Consumer is still the standard German word for John Q. Public. Fröbe in his pre Goldfinger figure, thanks to standard rations, is quite a sight.
By the time they say Otto Normal-verbraucher (consumer) John Doe takes Berlin, and sings a ballad too.
