One Response to Premature Burial (1962)

  1. OSMOSIS says:

First saw this as a “gift” from our Junior High School Principal (who had a buttload of Corman and Hammer films…personally purchased!!–I MISS YOU, Mr. Ellis, because you ROCKED!!)–on 16 MM Reels. Mr. Ellis ‘gifted’ our school for a GREAT YEAR by calling an assembly in our auditorium to screen “The Premature Burial”—of course, we HAD to get Parent-Signed Permission Slips because this counted as an “all-school excursion to the movies” (our CLOSEST Movie Theater in operation at that time was 35-or-so-BLOCKS away from the school.

Anyways, BOY was THIS a TREAT—and scary as hell too (the print was great, considering 16MM!!), and you should’ve heard our female classmates screaming. (Ha Ha!!) I’ve been wanting to FIND “The Premature Burial” ever since, mainly because TV Showings in DC after about ’75 was pretty, pretty rare. MANAGED to rent a VHS when it came out in ’86, but it was a quickie rent, and I couldn’t take it all in (work schedules, etc.).

Which is where RARELUST comes in again. Thank you, Thank you—wow, I cannot Thank You enough for this Ray Milland/Roger Corman fright-fest. Keep on rockin’ like you do!
