This film blew me away, a definite keeper!
Klaus Maria Brandauer is brilliant as the hapless Oberst Redl. Armin Mueller-Stahl adds more support to a strong cast.
The real history behind Oberst Redl is even more captivating, in my opinion.
I highly recommend this film, especially for the history buffs out there.
Please do not call this simply a Yugoslavian film. Of the four countries involved in this production — Austria, Hungary, (West) Germany, Yugoslavia — Yugoslavia did the less.
i take 1st country mentioned by imdb..-:)
Called “a masterpiece,” I am thankful you are putting up such great films, and some wonderfully, bad films too. All good.
THANKS.
