You know, I bookmarked this episode of the show a long time ago, some time later I downloaded it and watched it. And still I won’t delete the bookmark, just so I can look at the screencaps. The reason is that I would like to be able to see the face of this old man… I feel so sorry for him. I mean, the only reason he is ignored throughout the episode is because he is old. The character is old, the actor is old. Nobody listens when you are old, that is what this episode is about. And you become small. You shrink. He might have been tall and strong once, and then nobody would have ignored him. But now, even though his soul is still in him, he has become invisible. I can’t express how sad this is. And still, there he is – the actor, trying to be someone, to exist. I’ll keep the bookmark for the sake of all the old people I pass by on the street.
Thanks RL!
