Honestly, I don’t know how jokes in the movie can make much sense when translated. So many are based on play-on-words. Hopefully not much has been lost in translation. This is one of the most funny Czech comedies from 70s. Believe me when I say there is no scene without some kind of joke or a funny moment. Script writers (famous actors themselves) later said in some interview that, as this was their first movie they were working on, they tried to put as many jokes as they could into the movie, later realizing they could easily spare some to future productions.
Thanks for having fulfilled my requête, Rare !
