thank you for this rare classic.
Fascinating piece of film history, and incredible that something this costly and lavish was produced in wartime Germany, when they were already on the decline. Interesting also that the director was supposedly murdered by the Gestapo. It’s a propaganda piece to be sure, but it is very subtle, and no matter because this is truly an excellent movie. IMO the best filmed version of the Titanic story.
Now HERE is a little-seen classic of historic interest.
Made in Germany during the height of the war, it was used to show that the Titanic was the result of despotic capitalists.
