It’s said that this is a cursed movie. The director (Guerín) died the day he was going to film the last scene, falling from the bell tower of the church that appears in the movie. Bardem was signed to take charge of the final cut, but he didn’t know nothing about what Guerín had planned for it.

Funny… I don’t remember any animal cruelty in this. I just vaguely remember the 3 female leads having “huge tracks of land” and the director never shows them (the tease). I guess he was a butte man.
I believe someone is finally releasing this on blu-ray some time this year.
