Description: Dr. John Holden ventures to London to attend a paranormal psychology symposium with the intention to expose devil cult leader, Julian Karswell. Holden is a skeptic and does not believe in Karswell’s power. Nonetheless, he accepts an invitation to stay at Karswell’s estate, along with Joanna Harrington, niece of Holden’s confidant who was electrocuted in a bizarre automobile accident. Karswell secretly slips a parchment into Holden’s papers that might possibly be a death curse. Recurring strange events finally strike fear into Holden, who believes that his only hope is to pass the parchment back to Karswell to break the demonic curse.

Another fine job, thanks for the hard work.
Thank you for posting this excellent blu-ray version with the audio commentary. The longer British version was 96 minutes and referred to as Night of the Demon. The shorter U.S. theatrical cut was 82 minutes and called Curse of the Demon.
Yay, I love stories from MR James and this is a fine adaptation of his old story, Casting The Runes.
Thanks for this upgrade, RL!
Many thanks for posting this classic with commentary
Commentary is with author Tony Earnshaw, writer of “Beating the Devil: The Making of Night of the Demon”.
Been a lifelong fan of this ever since I first saw it on TV back in the late ’60s (the COLUMBIA Version), then when it came to VHS in the early ’80s as an uncut print (which RCA/COLUMBIA also acquired for home video release), I jumped on it and made sure to grab a copy after it was taken off the rent list at my local store (decent condition, too.). Still spooks me to this day. Thanks, Rarelust.
