When this premiered on Local Syndicated TV back in 1970–yeah, American International was HELLA-FAST for this: Dubbed and Packaged by DECEMBER 1970…7 Months AFTER Japanese Theatrical Release!!–those of us who were schoolkids at the time were at the ready.

In DC, WDCA-TV (Channel 20) got the exclusive rights (“DESTROY ALL PLANETS” and “ATTACK OF THE MONSTERS” was also a part of that triple AIP-Package, but WDCA only opted for “GAMERA VS MONSTER X”–this film’s AIP Title, leaving WJZ (Channel 13 in Baltimore) to grab the other two–until about 1972 when Channel 20 requested those other back.). Regional Television Market Distribution, folks…that’s the way it worked. (For example: we never had STARMAN in DC…had to fight a snowy air antenna reception to catch those on a Baltimore Station [WBFF -Channel 45].).

Great GAMERA Memories with this film, and now, of course, no terrible TV Signal. LOL!!

    Thanks, Rarelust. Always The Best!!

YAY! Been hoping for old Gamera!!

Probably need the old VHS copies still for that Original American International soundtrack, but will be great to see it with a good picture. Now we can clearly see the resemblance to Mitch McConnell.

Commentary is with Kaiju expert Edward L. Holland.
