Ridley Scott did this w/ Alien. His Directors cut is shorter than the theatrical. While he added new scenes, he got rid of others.
Whats infuriating is he was happy with the Theatrical cut of Alien, UNLIKE Blade Runner where the Directors Cut is his actual vision, so why bother cutting out scenes we know and love for an ALTERNATE version of Alien? I can only assume $$$
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I hate when that happens. Stallone did the same thing with Rambo 2008.
Great addition to the RL collection. Coppola’s commentary is worth listening to, very informative!
Unusual to see a director’s cut where he removes footage… about six minutes worth! I like both versions so I’m not parting with the theatrical anytime soon. Great quality and commentary, thanks RL.
Commentary is with actor William Campbell.
