I think Klaus Kinski did his utmost to lead as interesting a life as could be in uninteresting times.
a sociopath exploiting a mental ill person and some natives? yep, souns like a Herzog movie!
(spoiler alert) no, a sociopath realizing it’s a crime exploiting some natives ending washed up in the African shore.
Now after all this work I was hesitant to ask RL the “Herzog in Africa 45mins documentary that comes with the BR, but whenever-ever-ever possible would be awesome to add herewith as well.
btw, German colonialism was rampant in Africa pre-WWI, silly how Hollywood …tangentially touches say, in The African Queen (Bogart/1951).
