This contains one of the most audacious scenes ever filmed – a Wuxia wireworks flying sex fight – and so should be seen for that alone. However, the rest of the film is very up and down in tone, with some zany gruesomeness but also plenty of icky mean-spirited violence (which would be fun for the effects but since the characters have no power to fight back, the narrative drags down in the mire.) it is called Chinese Torture Chamber Story, so obviously the content is there in the title, but given how few films offer naked kung-fu fornication, i guess i wish this movie hadn’t lived up to it’s name.
