In 1964 in the Michael Caine version half-nude Zulu girls shocked next to austere colonial Brits, in 1979 it’s a different story… Burt Lancaster comes from Bertolucci’s anti-fascist 1900.

Imo, Zulu Dawn is a nice compliment to Zulu, in that the stories were meant to dovetail each other as they’re both telling the same story of the British machinations in South Africa via sequential battles.
Zulu Dawn offers more background of the Zulu conquest in a more complete image for those people who aren’t up on the history.
