Pay no attention to the IMDB scores, people.
The Mangler 2 is actually a very funny movie, as long as you dont try to take it seriously.
I used to have the dvd back in the day, Had some good laughs thanks to it.
First one is really nice, loads of good old classical 80s horror movies vibes into it (with a grain of new-age stuff perhaps).
The second one is stereotypic of 2000s horror-esque B-movies (god I love these experimental cuts / fading + grotesque 3D / internet / computerish blackmagic + brainless techno music), don’t take it seriously, but it’s really fun to watch! (and Daniella Evangelista is a nice addition)
The third one is utterly bad however, don’t watch it until you really have nothing else to do! (terrible acting, senseless cuts, bad lighting, bad writing, gross words have been edited out of the audio track, filmed in-house, the only good news is that is lasts <90min (well, the photography is kinda nice on some still shots I have to admit))
Such an underrated movie. One of my personal favorite Hooper films. That third movie, The Mangler Reborn, is kind of fun and I prefer it to the first sequel.
