They did a lot of these in the early 1980s.
I think it was an attempt to generate interest int he movies and in the video. Sybil Danning hosted one also I believe.
THIS–along with IT CAME FROM HOLLYWOOD, and I think there was ONE other–were ESSENTIAL video rentals. This is Charles Band’s contribution featuring ALL 3 of The Carradines in the same place. it was also a classic HBO/”Super TV” staple (I caught it everytime it aired!). It’s a must see (take it from us “video store kids”.).
You guys are indeed correct. Many also had nude scenes omitted from the movies they featured, much to our delight of course. These days nobody cares anymore. They dont do things like in the 80s anymore.. perhaps thats a good thing, but I sure miss it…
