The US VHS runs 106 minutes, took me years to hunt down a copy of it.

Good quality, but far from “uncut.” Someone has gone to the trouble of restoring one missing scene, involving L. Blair getting raped by Kristel and the male guard. however there are other scenes that are missing, including a shower room rape of another prisoner, as well as an extra scene of Linda and her fiance in the hotel room. My old VHS clocks in at 101 minutes, meaning this version is missing 7 minutes. It is a shame that this title has been so heavily cut, because it is one of the better prison films..

Actually my copy was recorded off the Showtime Network back in the early 90’s…no trailers, just the film itself. “Red Heat” clocks in at 104 minutes…Anyone who doubts can check the site dvdcompare.net…it explains the different versions and mentions the original 104 minute cut that was never released on dvd…I don’t know about the commercially released VHS tape as I never saw that version..I only have the 90’s showtime broadcast and I’m affirming that it is really 104 minutes. It’s only a matter of time before one of the boutique labels picks it up for a proper restoration…
