This is a great, memorable movie:
1) One of the few “true”, personal stories about WWII made into a movie.
2) Jeff Hunter at his peak, just before Star Trek, a must-see for all Trek fans.
3) Beautiful photography, largely filmed in the Philippines.
4) One of the few, if only, films about the native Chamorro people of Guam.
5) A man finds courage and a family in an unexpected place–great movie for kids in that respect. Aside from a few dead bodies, very instructive for kids–I first saw it when i was 10.
