We like to watch videos before having sex with my wife, but we find softcore movies odd, porn movies not realistic/erotic. This is a great movie for our taste, any suggestion for similar movies are greatly appreciated.
There are many candidates, of course. But from those that first spring to mind, check out only 2 or 3 from this collection — Dirty Diaries (2009) | https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1686029/ — but particularly the first short “Skin”, and see the one user review there for more details. Also, another good one, this 2015 short, “Stallion” | https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5289156/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_53, which runs occasionally on the cable channel ShortsTV.

This is actually a really good film that despite the explicit sex including penetration being depicted doesn’t feel like a pornographic movie.

Completely agree with you as well, Zed. It happens to be explicit, but is definitely something else. If one’s primary goal was for inducing horniness (which is what most porn would aspire to), there are any number of better places and examples at which to seek that out. Yes, you could call it “arty”, but NOT excessively or self-consciously so. Recommended.
One thing this film does masterfully is that it actually shows incredible restraint in the earlier sex scenes; the longer in the movie you go, the more explicit it gets – it doesn’t jump into the deep end straight away. It builds its own sort of ‘tension’ because of this, and maintains so much more “class”, if you will, then hundreds of other films of this type. Would love to see more from the director.
