Actually met Ms. Verdon in real life (during her later years, she’s returned to working in Theater). A wonderful lady with a bubbly spirit–although…”Sorry, but I don;t DO ‘Lola’, anymore!” (LOL) That always gave us a laugh backstage at my J-O-B (a major regional theater in DC). This was during the early ’90s. (ALTHOUGH, about a decade later, we DID DO “Damn Yankees”.) As for the movie itself, I used to LOVE it when I caught it on local TV back in the day (of course, The “Lola” scene always got me–even as a kid.). Thanks Rarelust—and also, THANK YOU, Ms. Gwen Verdon. You were one of a kind.
