Some additional info: The DVD distributor (or the encoder) achieved widescreen here via reverse pan and scan. I confirmed this by viewing Tubi’s streaming copy which is 4:3 with significantly more top and bottom frame retained and only a very minimal sliver of the sides cropped off as compared to the widescreen DVDRip.
