I would recommend this one highly, but ARGH it’s the US edit that lost about ten minutes, including the original ending.
If you’ve seen Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, you will know that there are some endings that – while perfect in terms of the film – hurt the box office. He was able to keep his in the US, but the writer/director of this one wasn’t.
I’m not sure if the original cut has had a Blu-ray release, but there’s certainly been a DVD one, and what it will lack in resolution, it will make up for in quality.

Ending with the concert might give you a ‘feelgood’ ending, but it’s not how it is supposed to end.
If any readers have only seen the US version, get the original cut and see a very different film.
