The 1980s were a golden age for hipsters, but for Japan it is a fact. The 80s marked an economic height and uncompared cultural opening and general optimism in the long history of Nippon. In this pov this movie is a landmark in japanese filmography; sure it is full of cliches, but isn’t the so-called interracial theme today, too? In a perfect world there wouldn’t be any issue and probably not this movie.
