For those interested in the cut differences, the main version is the “Original Cut” (and is listed smartly as “Director’s Cut” here on Rarelust, even though it’s the shorter and non-theatrical version.) The Extended Cut has a few extra scenes, one with nudity and one with violence, but neither scene was cut for those reasons; they just didn’t work so well. (One cut scene does hew closer to the Shakespeare story, so there is that, if you need authenticity.) I believe all three cut scenes previously had been tossed onto the DVD as deleted scenes, so you may have seen them before, and they’re all in bad VHS quality so the edits are jarring. If it’s your first time with Tromeo & Juliet, probably stick with the main version as it plays best even though it has a bit less boobs and blood, but it’s cool that the Extended Version is around to check out too.
Want to know, which of this versions has the english subtitles? Or both of them? Thanks!
