First, thanks for this marvelous upgrade.
Second–who hasn’t experienced this as a school kid back in the day? We used to see this in special school showings, and to this day I’ve been enthralled that there was no dialog, but told a full and deep story. (Oh yeah–the climax had us in tears.)
I also remember that this same French Director made a short about living bicycles, which we also seen at school.
For some reason, my school showed us the Red Balloon several times on rainy days. Brings back nostalgic memories.
I have a fond memory of seeing it one day in second grade.
Perhaps the greatest film shown on this site. A Masterpiece.
Nothing beats authentic animals and locations. Having seen the Adventures of Milo and Otis this week has inspired me. I despise CG cats and dogs. Thanks for this collection.
