Todd Haynes is a nobody.
Muchas gracias, la tenía de mala calidad, esta se ve mucho mejor. Saludos
Another good one! Thank you so much!!! ??
Now, I just need “Diary of a Teenage Hitchhiker” starring Charlene Tilton, “Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway” and “Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn”. It’s so hard to find good copies of those clasic made-for-tv-movies!
Whether or not you found a lot of the songs she (or the label management) chose for her to record to be on the saccharine side, one is forced to concede that Karen had one of THE most perfect female singing voices of all time.
I don’t know if this is just going to be another whitewash job, but the presence of Richard up top in the credits makes me suspicious. For an acid-etched contrast, I recently watched https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094075/ — even though I normally cannot stand most of Todd Haynes’ work. It’s a real shame that one got suppressed by the interested commercial parties, and only survived in the form of a very crappy looking bootleg that somehow managed to escape into the wild. I would have preferred to see that one in its original form. (If anyone has that, please step forward !)
My favorite Todd Haynes film is “Velvet Goldmine”. I must’ve seen that film twenty times.
There’s a spot in my heart for The Carpenters! BTW, I don’t know that this fits into what Rarelust seeks out, but there’s was a “bootleg” 1987 Carpenters short movie where all the characters are portrayed with Barbie dolls. This was an early, experimental work of filmmaker Todd Haynes. Rips of copies of it can be found out on the internet.
Whoops, skipped the name of the Todd Haynes doll-puppet version of the story. It’s SUPERSTAR: THE KAREN CARPENTER STORY.
Thank you! She really hit it hard.
