So, thank you so much to Rarelust for offering a 3D version in the archive; all of us who can still play 3D movies appreciate any effort to keep these versions of films alive.
OK, that being said… save yourself the disappointment from downloading the 3D version unless you really, really have to see it this way no matter what. Truth is, there is no actual 3D home version available. The 3D version here is a reconstruction combining the BD footage for one eye and a capture of an old Japanese laserdisc with “field-sequential 3D” for the other. As seen in the screenshots, the LD really low-res and blown out and spotty. It’s the best available source for the second viewpoint, but it’s very rough to try watching at home with one crystal-clear eye and the other fuzzy. This is as much of a “3D version” out there, so at least the original video archivist tried, but until a studio or film print owner some day actually scans the 3D movie properly, it’s probably easier to consider the 3D version as lost media rather than trying to fight through this duct-taped version. But enjoy it if you’re that dedicated!
Thanks for 3D!
