The man really looks like Dick Van Patten. I used to watch Eight Is Enough a long time ago, and liked it very much.
That very much looks like Dick Van Patten in the last photos from the movie, yet it isn’t listed in his credits at IMDB. Maybe he kept this movie quiet, esp. as he later starred as the dad in Eight Is Enough.
