Noir film think Sin City but shot in the 1960’s, sleazy and sophisticated at the same time. Spoiler, some scenes are quite stomach churning, tongue being ripped out, mutilation, heroin injections. It’s a very clean print and I love the narration which lifts this up on another level, you want flesh there is plenty, you want groovy soundtrack, you got it, this is must watch !

It’s amazing how sadistic and perverse this movie is given when it was made. It’s not explicit, but nonetheless surprised me. It also made me realize that I love the visual style of old black & white movies, not to mention the hair and makeup of that era. Oh, and the opening scene was a smoking fetishist’s fantasy even though it was intentionally shot in a dark setting. There’s no real dialogue, only narration, which actually kind of worked. Your mileage may vary.
