A passable adaptation of Ray Russell’s brilliant novelette.
Thank you for the commentary. The film has more cultural relevance now than when released. It’s a variation on ‘The Man Who Laughs’ concept and there by a distant relative to the modern Joker mythos. Worth mentioning: The rock band Spirit released ’12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus’ in 1970, an absolute masterpiece of psychedelic rock.
