  5. Anthony Langford says:

I haven’t seen this since I was a kid. I remember it screened a couple of times. And I remember feeling some emotional connection to it, or at least a response, unlike any other interpretation of the story I’ve seen since.
Looking forward to seeing this again. Thank you.

  6. Helen says:

    Great cast!

  7. MTS says:

Add one more to the Jane Seymour collection.

    Thanks!

  8. Kenneth McIntyre says:

Thank you for fulfilling my request and doing it so quickly. You really are the best.

  9. Phaota says:

Commentary is with filmmaker/historian Sam Irvin.

  10. OSMOSIS says:

This 2-Night, 2-Part NBC-TV Movie was originally broadcasted with a host, and was a very big deal when it premiered, mainly for emphasizing that Universal Pictures portrayal of The Frankenstein Monster was NOT what Mary Shelley had in mind. Nonetheless, it was a ratings monster (no pun intended), and it (kinda) overshadowed CBS-TV’s “Dracula” with Jack Palance some 10 months prior.
Again, Thanks, Rarelust, for continuing to rock.

  11. Muff Diver says:

Watching James Mason as the sleazy, wormy Polidori is a pleasure. The rest of the cast is also pretty stout.

Notwithstanding the deviations and “artistic licenses” by the writers from Shelley’s original story, ‘True Story,’ is the most complete of all the Frankenstein films, imo. It’s also my favorite of the lot. I’ve seen most of the Frankenstein film adaptations, and most of them are dreadful.

    Thanks for this Blu-ray upgrade.
