Great film that has aged well. A male version of ‘Fatal Attraction’ and oddly perverse for it’s time. Director Mark Robson had a stellar career dating back to RKO and the legendary Val Lewton collection. Most film historians focus on the great Robert Wise who also emerged from The Lewton cycle. Robson was just as influential but it went outside the horror/sci-fi genres. ‘7th Victim’ is often cited as a precursor to the satanic paranoia of ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ and the religious horror it spawned. For more on the legacy of Val Lewton check out ‘Val Lewton: The Man in the Shadows’ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1151833/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
