Harrison Mueller Jr at his peak!

    If Sabrina Siani, I’m sold.

Actually one of the best Italian Post Apocalyptic movies of the 80’s, and somehow one of the least known, thanks to the tight pacing and appealing cast. Joe D’Amato has said that his other post Apocalypse movie “Endgame” was his personal favorite, but “Texas Gladiators” is better.

My oh my this movie is awful. It’s as if nobody was knowing what they were doing there… You can feel that *someone* was trying to make a movie, but Murphy’s law hit the production like a drunken truck full of explosives.

Almost everything is wrong, dialogues are really lame, acting is terrible, parts of the movie are only very loosely related to each other (don’t ask for a story), workers are falsely turning valves even when it’s in the foreground and everybody sees it, some guy is incapable to put a bullet in the magazine, another guy is trying to signalling with the sun and a mirror but fails miserably, dead guys are breathing, and so forth and so on. It’s as if they screwed up half their takes but didn’t want to reshoot any of them.

It’s weird, because given the more than correct makeup, explosions, and lenses quality I wouldn’t say that this was because of budget issues. Anyway, if you want post-apocalypse weirdry, you’re far better of watching Warriors of the Wasteland (1983) or Dune Warrior (1991) for instance or even Megaforce (1982), all on Rarelust ;)
