Every John Wayne fan should see this film. Powerful, moving and profound. The Duke shows great courage and strength as a man in making this tragic swan song. Lauren Bacall and Ron Howard give excellent supporting performances and Jimmy Stewart is terrific in the short time he is on screen. Truly a classic!

Thank you for this very well done western. It’s still very powerful.
The Dukes last film and a poignant one at that. The fact that he like the character was actually dying gave an authenticty to the role that was quite moving. Very good film.
