Description: Dr. Syn, a country priest leads a rebel band against the King’s naval press gangs. Press gangs (impressment) roam the country side beating young men into submission or unconsciousness, usually at local inns and pubs, in order to enslave them in the Royal British Navy. Dr. Syn conceals his secret identity behind a sackcloth mask, and carries on activities ala Scarlet Pimpernel and Zorro from his parish base.

I saw this at the pictures in a double bill with The Sword In The Stone way back about 1963ish. So sad Disney hid it away.
Looking forward to seeing this.
Thanks.
Mcgoohan was exceptional!
However this one escaped the clutches of the Mouse, I’m glad it did.
Wow is right. This sucker has been unavailable in any format for decades. Disney all but buried this thing, almost as if they were ashamed of it. Which is hard to understand, really, as it’s actually one of their better live action titles. Thanks for posting this! Big thumb’s up.
Wow. Don’t see THIS often.
Yes!
Thank you SO much for this – I adore Patrick McGoohan.
