These are a real find, particularly ‘Planeta bur’. I might add ‘First Spaceship On Venus’ (1960) is an interesting film that combines footage in a similar manner as the Corman Americanized versions. Definitely worth watching if you like these. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053250/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_first%2520sp
This is a great package.THANK YOU!!
Not Russian. It’s Soviet. There’s a nuance.
Science fiction as movie genre was not popular among Soviet bureaucrats who managed Soviet cinema. Planeta Bur’ was a rare exception.
Only by the end 1970s they changed their minds and few sci fi movies were made, mostly cheap ones.
Tarkovsky was also an exception but his 2 sci fi movies were art house cinema.
???????
Oh, wow! I’ve been looking for these for ages. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much!
Glad that all 4 of the Roger Corman / AIP Russian Sci-Fi Acquisitions are together in one place, and in decent prints for what it’s worth. I think there are also a couple of the original versions here on Rarelust as well. Again, Thanks, Rarelust (and you too, Roger Corman for being the best).;
