i download this just because of Robin Wright. love her since watching her on one soap opera on tv back when i’m still in primary school…
The Princess Bride is a cleverly spun Fairy Tale. Thank you for presenting it in this format.
You know, I’ve never liked “The Princess Bride.” It just wasn’t fantasy enough. This poster is – it is beautiful, but the flm is more like a postmodern play at fantasy than the article itself. The sword fight is very good, though, and would be even better without so much clever talk between thrusts.
I would agree. I do like the film, but somehow it doesn’t quite seem ‘epic’ and is more like a staged play most of the time, never really convincing that it is what it’s trying to be.
Love this movie, thank you!
Score is by Mark Knopfler – that is the reason why I watched it in the 80ies…
Thank you, Rarelust for this share and all.
Oddly, I never actually understood the high rating that Princess Bride gets. I didn’t think much of it when it came out in ’87 and after repeated viewing I’ll probably never warm up to it. imho.
The Princess Bride was a geek favourite back in the 80’s and I remember lines from the movie being regularly quoted.
Thanks for posting!
Commentaries are with (1) director Rob Reiner, and (2) writer William Goldman.
