Thanks for the extras. Here’s my full review:
A visually stunning Aussie film Soleil, elevated by Umbrella’s HD transfer, showcases Sydney and Bondi Beach in lush, vibrant glory through the lens of the brilliant John Seale. Atmospheric locations, from Bondi’s sun-kissed shores to Sydney’s rowdier urban hotspots, shimmer with inviting allure. Yet, beneath this glistening surface, a dark and dirty underbelly slowly rises. While the plot feels needlessly muddled and somewhat underwhelming, Bryan Brown’s gruff and uncompromised P.I. Cliff Hardy—charming and shades darker than Tom Selleck’s Magnum—captivates, as the best movie P.I.s always do.
