The Araki movies, particularly “The Doom Generation” (1995) and “Nowhere” from 1997 are iconic works for and of the 1990ies, at least in the aesthetic aspect. Those movies should have become popular cult-references of the 90s – but now they file pretty much under obscure and are not easy to find (particularly in other languages). This kind of random selection will always be a mystery to me. However, thanks for uncut version and for “Nowhere”, which can be found here: https://rarelust.com/nowhere-1997/
For anyone wondering; THIS print of “Doom Generation” is the best you will find, it is uncut AND widescreen. For some reason the ridiculously overpriced dvd’s are all cropped, 4×3 prints…and the picture quality of those dvd’s is horrible…
Thank you. I’ve been looking for about an hour now & having an issue finding a decent quality, Unrated directors cut with a wide screen aspect ratio. Hopefully eventually the internet archive will be able to get an FHD version. I also appreciate rarelust below for explaining the time issue. This 80 minute avi/DVD rip is the original framerate & the other Unrated version showing 82 minutes is just a floating framerate slowed to the mp4 standard 23.976, which I can only find in 480p.
Post the open matte version with aspect ratio of 512×384, it shows more details of nudity that is cut in this widescreen version.
Thanks!!!
There is supposedly an uncut version of this film… ever heard anything about it?
80:14mins posted above is uncut
other prints 75 min (R-rated) | 71 min (cut)
This is the unrated version, however, there is also a version that runs 83 minutes floating around out there.
82+ minutes floating Frame rate: 23.976 fps
80:14mins = Frame rate: 25.000 fps
Thanks for this wonderful film
Thanks for this classic. I recommend it to anyone reading this. It’s sooo good.
