It stretches your credulity – just how incompetent are the Dutch police at investigating murders committed with witnesses, no attempt to avoid leaving forensics? – but I am sure it’s something we’ve all wanted to do.
The subtitles assume that you know the context of several things: ‘Black Pete’ is ‘Zwarte Piet’, a black “servant” of St Nicholas, and a feature of a traditional Dutch Christmas for ages. It’s controversial, hence the hatred for saying that just perhaps it’s more than a bit racist and should go.
I’ve been wanting to watch this movie ever since I’ve read about it back in 2019, but it wasn’t available anywhere I could find.
