    This got lots of Oscar buzz back in the day (when it was better) for Dexter Gordon and a Best Actor nomination. Thanks for the bonus content.

      Dexter Gordon really is very good in this.
      I was grateful he portrayed the man’s bad sides. Those could have been explored further, but maybe it would have put off a lot of fans, who were an important target audience. Good Tavernier, though, by any standard.
