RL, if you also have the rare Man on Horseback (aka Michael Kohlhaas der Rebell/1969/98mins) dir. Volker Schlöndorff, the previous film of Anita Pallenberg and with Keith Richards guested, would be great to upload!

  2. wayne says:

There’s another version of this film where the child (‘ere mum, when’s Christmas’?) is overdubbed by an adult putting on a childs voice. It was on the VHS i used to have, but i cant find that version anywhere anymore.

  3. Perfect_Timing says:

For those who don’t know, the Big Audio Dynamite song “E=MC2” is entirely about this film and loaded with samples from the audio track.

    • screen_spirit says:

To be specific, the song is about many of the films of Nicholas Roeg. As well as Performance, there are references to Don’t Look Now, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Bad Timing and Insignifcance.

  5. SB says:

Fabulous, thanks for fulfilling my request RL!!

  6. Mr.G. says:

the only thing that stuck to me from this film since the ’80s (VHS) is memo from Turner and there’s a featurette here, nice. The single exists in that London Years 3CD collection UICY-93035/7.

    • Mr.G. says:

PS: initially criticized as “the most loathsome film of all” with theatres initially shown constantly smelling from viewers; throwing up // Who can forget the scene when the fur-coated Pherber (Pallenberg) lies down on the bed when talking to Chas (James Fox) whom she has just met and begins to fondle the fur just over her otherwise naked crotch? This is definitely one of the most erotic moments in cinema history – Danny Peary (Cult Movies).for the record.

    Ohh, killer pick…
