  1. Mr.G. says:

Kim Newman commentary the Brit horror-film critic, ah so. In his top-10 goat list are Let’s Scare Jessica to Death/1971 (RL’s got it) and Céline and Julie Go Boating (aka Phantom Ladies Over Paris)/1974 by Jacques Rivette (got it not). Uploading the latter would be highly appreciated.

  2. AH says:

This is up there with Vigilante with giving the viewer some of the most generous amounts of scuzzy pre-gentrification NYC. It is a brilliant film.

  3. Tony says:

Rugged James Brolin isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, and that poster is dead-on accurate: he literally tears NYC apart searching for his kidnapped daughter. The first third is so breakneck and wild that the climax falls frustratingly short. Dan Hedaya’s cop is the most unhinged character here, and that’s really saying something in this company. I first read about this, appropriately, years ago in Cinema Sewer and was glad to finally see it cleaned up and restored in HD, rescued from VHS-torrent semi-obscurity. Pornstar Ms. Sharon Mitchell cameos as a 42nd St. peep-show stripper with a moral flicker in the film’s sleaziest, most authentic set piece.

One of those great 70’s/80’s era flicks that show the great, sleazy days of New York, when it was a “real” city with flavor and diversity and culture. (Now it’s just a sterile outdoor shopping mall filled with boring people who stare at their cellphones.) I have been asking for “Children of Times Square” to be posted here, but “Night of the Juggler” is the next best thing. This has never been issued on dvd or Bluray so this is the best option. Thanks Rarelust. I will keep my fingers crossed for “Children of Times Square” to show up here..
