Smashing the Crime Syndicate (1970)

Like many of drive-in king Al Adamson films of the late 60s and early 70s, HELL’S BLOODY DEVILS started as one thing, and ended up as something entirely different. In this case, shooting began in 1967 as OPERATION M,
and then subsequently under the title THE FAKERS. But when a straightforward crime thriller couldn’t be sold to a proper distributor, new biker footage was lensed,
incorporated into the plot, and the result was HELL’S BLOODY DEVILS, which was released through Adamson’s and producer Sam Sherman’s own newly-formed Independent International in 1970.
To make matters even more confusing, the film later had its motorcycle action removed in an incarnation known as SMASHING THE CRIME SYNDICATE, mostly screened overseas.
Never given a video release in the U.S. and believed to be a “lost” Al Adamson film, HELL’S BLOODY DEVILS finally makes its home video debut on the digital format.

  1. ScreamingBuddha says:

Troma released HBD to DVD in the early 2000s so the Severin blu ray is not the first. However I’ve never seen the Smashing The Crime Syndicate version.

  2. siegfried-odinson says:

    al adamson allways delivers, thanks.

  3. How did you slip this one past me, but you did. I’m a sucker for anything for the Biker Flick” genre, especially pre1980. Here we have an Al Adamson classic, and the score, no, not Morricone, but Nelson Riddle. So, expect the expected, hot chicks, boobs a plents, sweet bikes, bad ass boys, and here some neo-nazi’s in Vegas. How could it be bad.
    KUDOS R/L!
